About True Blue 10
True Blue 10 was founded by like-minded individuals to return Texas Congressional District 10 to a Democrat of the same mold as those that previously held this office; Lloyd Doggett, Jake Pickle, Homer Thornberry and Lyndon B. Johnson.
True Blue 10 currently has two primary purposes:
- To jump-start the 2008 congressional campaign.
- To create an enduring structure that will, over time, change the political complexion of the district. That includes:
- Organizing and coordinating at the precinct level with the County Chairs;
- Training activists;
- Maintaining a web presence with useful information for Democrats;
- Lobbying the Democratic Party, key players and groups to put resources into the district; and
- Raising money.
True Blue 10 will assist any Democrat emerging from a primary election that encompasses any part of the 10th Congressional District, including statewide candidates, and will maintain the knowledge and accomplishments of each campaign for the benefit of each successive campaign.
